Getting Ready

I am writing this blog so that friends and family can follow my trip to Kazakhstan to adopt my child--a process that will likely involve two trips of a month each, spread out over a three month period. I began the lengthy bureaucratic process to begin a transnational adoption in January, 2008. Nineteen months later, I am expecting to travel 'soon,' although what that means is always an open question in the unpredictable adoption process. Once I travel to Kazakhstan, my entries will become more frequent. I invite you all to follow along on my journey.
